Zürich, Switzerland – September 26, 2016 – The Swiss Arviem AG and the American Powers International LLC announced their partnership to verify cargo and monitor its movement on global shipments between the United States and the European Union.
Arviem’s market leading real-time cargo monitoring technology along with its American partner’s chain of custody solution will increase supply chain security as it will enable global cargo to come with a ‘digital passport’ that will serve as a verifiable transcript of the shipment’s journey. This control technology can be integrated with government servers and various other government requirements, serving as an electronic audit of the cargo’s movement, access and control from the cargo’s origin to its destination.
Arviem’s partnership with Powers International has been selected to join CORE, a public-private partnership established by the United States Department of Homeland Security and by the United States Department of the Interior. The goal of CORE is to simultaneously optimize and strengthen supply chain security. The program involves global supply shipments between the United States and the European Union. One of its purposes is to demonstrate the use of container security technology by involving various supply chain stakeholders, public entities, border authorities and supply chain providers.
“Having our newly established supply chain security partnership selected to join the CORE Consortium alongside public and private entities such as the Interpol, Customs Cooperation Council and Proctor and Gamble, certainly validates our efforts towards increasing visibility in global trade”, says Stefan Reidy, CEO of Arviem. Thanks to Arviem’s partnership with Powers International, organizations on both sides of the Atlantic will benefit from increased supply chain security and open and transparent supply chains. Powers International will provide the electronic documentation of the identity of the individuals handling the cargo both at its origin and its final destination, while Arviem’s intelligent sensing technology and its data analytics software will monitor the cargo’s conditions while in transit.
